A strong spirituality from distant centuries, borne by stories, poems, melodies and images, comes alive in this project that is uniting the poets Rumi and Yunus Emre and the Norwegian visual artist Emanuel Vigeland.
Two singers, Mahsa Vahdat from Iran and Coşkun Karademir from Turkey, channel this encounter between these three artists when they allow cascades of words and tones to reverberate around the walls of Vigeland’s magnificent mausoleum in Vinderen in Oslo, where the echoes last more than 14 seconds.
Persian and Anatolian poetry and music have embraced each other since the time when wandering mystics travelled across the region, when no language barriers or borders of any kind could stop ideas from flowing across mountains, valleys and flatlands.
Moulana Jalalod-din Rumi came as an immigrant to Konya in Anatolia where he spent most of his life and wrote his poems in Farsi, inspired by his breathtaking meeting with Shams from Tabriz.
Yunus Emre lived in the same area at the same time, singing his songs in Turkish.

It was a renaissance of free minds sharing views of freedom that have become essential for mankind, humanistic ideas defying the shifting dictators in the various rising and falling nations or kingdoms.
It is all about the human heart, its endless path, the free access we all have to The Beloved’s grace and love, and how Love is the world’s most important source of creation.

The Norwegian painter Emanuel Vigeland (1875-1948) has shown similar ideas in his frescoes decorating his beautiful mausoleum in Oslo. Here all the aspects of human life are celebrated on the walls of a lofty room where the impressive acoustics give a frame of endlessness to music and poems by two mystic masters from Persian and Anatolian culture.

Since its first released in 2017 in Norway, album received extraordinary reception from authorities with many good reviews. Listed in Transglobal World Music Charts for 3 months. Songlines Magazine selected the album for March 2018 Compilation CD which was selected for British Airways play list. Songlines reviewed the album as “Top of the World Album”.
